CATHOLIC BAZAAR

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NEXT.

After many weeks of intensive work and skilful organisation, the Oatholic Bazaar Committee is ready to stage its big carnival in Leeston Town Hall. The two-days bazaar will be officially opened on Friday next at 3 p.m. by Mr Jer. Connolly, M.P., and his Lordship the Rt. Rev. Dr. Brodie, Bishop of Christchurch, will also be present. Like all carnival efforts, quite a lot of interest has been aroused in connexion with this fixture, and the unstinted patronage of the public of Ellesmere and even farther afield seems assured. Certainly there will be no lack of entertainment or interest, as the band of workers, especially the ladies, who will supervise the various stalls, are all tried and true workers and organisers, and under their guidance success is assured. The bazaar will remain open until 11 o'clock on Friday night and will be continued on Saturday from 7 p.m. till midnight. The stalls will contain such a variety of articles that every taste can be catered for, and the showmen will see to it that there will be no lack of entertainment. The Ellesmere Brass Band will be in attendance on Friday evening. A large marquee is also to be provided and this will be well lighted, and, with the gaily decorated stalls and* carnival-spirited patrons, the old Town Hall should present a very gay appearance on Friday and Saturday night next.
