R.S.A. SOCIAL,
There was a good attendance at the final of the Returned Soldiers' Association's socials on Tuesday evening. The most successful card players were Mrs Williamson and Mrs Messrs R. Howatson and G. Hill. The winner for the aggregate was Mrs Williamson, with Mrs Hannah as runner-up. In the men's section the winner was Mr C. McJarrow, with Mr R. Howatson runner-up. Supper was provided by members of the club, and a most pleasant time was spent,.
LEESTON- CONVENT CONCERT.
Despite the wet weather on Wednesday evening there was a fair attendance at the concert which was given in the Town Hall by the pupils and ex-pupils of the Leeston Convent School. The programme was the same as that given at Leeston, and the success achieved on the previous occasion was repeated. Every item was produced in the excellent manner which always characterises the entertainments staged by the Convent School, and every one was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

Miss D. Breach, Methven, is spending a short holiday with Miss Russell, Little Rakaia.
Miss M. O'Connor, West Melton, is visiting her parents at Southbridge, accompanied by Miss L. O'Connor, of Christchurch.
