TO-DAY'S LEESTON STOCK SALE.

INCREASED SHEEP ENTRY.

For the fortnightly stock sale held at the Leeston yards to-day there was a substantial increase in the number of sheep penned, a considerable portion of the entry being store ewes and lambs. Very few fat pigs were brought in, but there was an entry of about 130 store pigs. The cattle pens were unoccupied. For the better class of fat sheep and fat lambs values were firm at recent rates, and the same applied to good stores. For small store lambs iv poor condition the demand was not at all brisk, and low prices ruled. Neither fat nor store pigs showed any marked change in values.

The best sale in fat lambs was a pen of five sent in by Mr H. Hood, which made 17/6. A pen of 10 sent by Mr J. Godsell brought 15/3, while a line of 167 sold for Mr J. Coe made 15/2. Other fat lamb sales were: Client, 6 at 12/2; Mrs A. Willey, 57 at 11/11; G. W. R. Osborne, 160 at 11/1; client, 10 at 10/-

Fat wethers: 17 at 13/6, 5 at 13/-. Fat ewes: 1 at 10/7, 93 at 6/2, 24 at 6/5, 20 at 6/-, 46 at 6/-. Store lambs: 30 at 5/6, 39 at 5/-, 31 at 2/4, 25 at 3/11, 33 at-3/7. Store wethers: 4 at 5/10. Store ewes: 13 at 5/7, 30 at 5/-, 98 at 3/6, 94 at 2/3, 23 at 5/3, 28 at 5/-, 30 at 1/5, 8 at 4/1.

Bacon pigs made up to 59/6, porkers 35/6 to 46/-, large stores 25/- to 35/-, medium from 18/-, weaners
