LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
LAKE DRAINAGE.
Sir, —I was greatly impressed with the possibilities of Mr Eddy's drainage scheme as outlined in the last issue of the Guardian. Three or four rows of 12ft. pipes should certainly take a large volume of water to keep the lake down to a very low level, and if found insufficient it should not be a hard matter to put down another row or two at any time. In fact, it could be extended indefinitely. I feel certain that the Drainage Board will give the proposal favourable consideration, for it looks like the sort of idea that appeals to them/especially if it can be done cheaply.—l am, etc. wm. McMillan. Lakeside.
