ROAD IMPROVEMENT
Today Messrs A. Werner and Co's scarifying, grading and rolling plant is at work on that stretch of High street between Flood's corner and the Mackenzie street corner. The street has been in a very bad state for some con siderable time, many large potholes having developed. The practice is to tear up the surface with the scarifier and then use the grader and roller. Splendid work has been done by Werner's outfit in Selwyn and Ellesmere
counties,
