The Eev. Is T. Friberg, at present vicar of Shirley, is to succeed the Rev W. Uphill as vicar of the Leeston parochial district. Mr Uphill leaves for England in June.
Mr S. AVoods, who is very favourably known in this district, has acquired the old established business at Riecarton known as Brake's store, and will take possession to morrow. His friends wish him success in his venture.
Arrangements arc being made by the ministers of the various* churches to hold a united service at the County Memorial on Anzac Day (Monday, April 25) on the same lines as the one held last year. A .definite announcement will be made next week.
The Key. G. P. Hunt, the new minister'of the Leeston Methodist circuit, and Mrs Hunt are to arrive in Lceston this evening. Mr Hunt's induction takes place in the Leeston Church on Thursday night at 8 o'clock. Several Christchurch clergymen will take part in the service, which will be followed by a social in Wesley Hall.
