Mentioned in the Roll of Honour during the pas! week are the following dames known to Dunsandel residents J -Sergeant H.: Newman Buttle, Private Williatn^fidersoo and Private Thomas A. <Pftft Serjeant Buttle, who hii mad« the supreme sacrifice, was a Christchurch lad and was the only son of the late Rev Buttle. He was educated at the Boys 1 High School at Christchurch, and on leaving school to learn farming, worked for a few years in that capacity in the Dun* sandel district. He was a member of the local football team, and was liked and respected by all he came in contact with. Private W. Anderson (wounded) was a son of Mr J- Anderson, one time baker at Dunsandel, and who a few months »go left for Temuka, where be has started business oq his own. Private Anderson, who wotked at Temuka, was only able to visit Dun3an Jel as a visitor and spent his final leave here. ! Private T: A. John (wounded) is the eldest son of Mr and Mrs A. John, and is we'll known in Dunsandel, having been born in the district. He was educated at the Dunsandtl School and then at the A'-hburton High School. ]On leaving school he took up carpentering and bad just about completed hi? apprenticeship when be enlist* cd. HARE DRI/E. A bare drive in aid of the Belgium Fund was held at the west end of the Dunsandel district on Saturday.
