LOCAL INDUSTRY.
TO THE EDITOR. '~i^ Sir, —In answer to your correspondent, 4* Farmer," writing in your last issue, who wears glasses—l know he wears glasses for he is so short sighted—the Empire has had enough of those citizens who have not an ounce of patriotism in/ their veins. These are the people whom we have to blame for this war. For the sake of saving a trifle they purchased German goods, deaf and blind to those patriots who wished to foster local trade. Say 1 patriots, arise! bump out those duffers with cold feet if they stand in the way; invite live men into our midst whqp're willing to work with, not adjust, us. There is nothing to pfo^nt running a bacon-curing plant and cheese factory. A patriot's first call is his family, but the district comes next. Look how Europe now values Home trade; they will not in future enrich outsiders if they can help it.—Ydurs, etc., PATRIOT.
