CONGERT.

1 The Brookside Cricket Club gave a concert and dance at grookside la.st Friday evening. There was a large attendance, but owing to the concert haying to be postponed from the previous Friday on account of the wet weather, several of the performers, disappointed the management by not attending. Miss Hammond, Leeston rendered an excellent overture, and successfully played the accompaniments throughout. Mr Nicholas gave several harp solos which were thoroughly enjoyed. Messrs c North and Johnston contributed 'several vocal items, and " later a duet, whilst the latter gentle"f man also gave one of his much enjoyed racy recitations. Mr Meredith was a host m himself, and thoroughly earned his guinea. Mr II H Cook was an excellent manager of the arrangements.
