Special prizes are being freely offi-red for the Southbridge Horticultural Society's next show. Mrs It. B. Willis has offered 10s for the best collection of roses ; Miss Cryer 53 for ihe best bouquet made up by school children, and 5a for the best table bouquet ; Mr Geo. Mumby, special prize for best collection of apples (grown m 1898-9); Mr McEvedy, 10s for the largest number of small birds' eggs (varieties preferred); this journal, a prize for the largest number of black birds and thrushes' eggs; Mrs Storry, 5s for the best collection o£ vegetables; Messrs J. H. Parker and Co,, 10s for the best collection of vegetables grown from Yates' speds procured from Messrs J. FT. Parker and Co, The programme is n->vr m the hands of the printer, and all those who intend to present special prizes will greatly oblige the secretary by giving him notice before the completion o£ the programme. Prom all accounts, the interest already taken m the show, which takes place on Dec. 20ih next, promises to nvike it the greatest success of! its kind ever held m Srralbbridsjo.
