Southbrige Town Board.

A special meeting of the above Hoard was held m tho Library, Southbridge, last Monday evening, when there were present : — Messrs VVebster (chairman), Will is, Kilbrido, Campbell, Bcntley, and Gilmour.

The following tenders were received for BUinglingj— J. Slattery li lOd per yard for Wilson's and Taumutu roads, aal 1 8 10d per yard for footpath ; John Sloan, Is Gd for shingling, and 9J for screening; H. Montgomery, Is lOd per yard, shingling footpaths 2s Gd per yard j E. Dobbin, 2s per yard for shingling roads and foot* path ; li. llichards) for shingling footpath, Is 9J per yard j Mr Montgomery's tender was accepted for the road contract, and the tender of Mr Slattery for the footpath. On the motion of Mr. Willis, seconded by Mr Campbell, the Works' Committee were instructed to provide an estimate of fcho probable cost of tilting water front liibbarJ's where required, and the clerk was instructed to write to the parties interested m the creek to ascertain if they have any objection to the water running through their properties. Mr Willis moved that the Works' Committee be instructed .to have the low places m Bridge»street filled m. - Seconded by Bentley and carried. Tbo offer of -Mr Smart to provide screened shingle at 4s per yard at Hornby, was deferred for consideration until neit meeting of the Board. - :
