Smith arrived at the office on Monday morning, with his arm in a bandage and a shield over one eye. _ “ Good gracious! ” exclaimed his friend. “ W hat have you been doing? ” “ This is what comes of taking the doctor s advice, Smith replied with deep feeling. “ Doctor’s advice,” echoed the other. “ But 1 don’t understand,” “ Well,” Smith explained, “ my doctor told me to go for a tramp every day. i came off best the first three days, but the blighter 1 tackled yesterday was an ex-pugilist.”
