RONS 1 TEL AT NASEBY

A curling bonspiel Avas held on Friday and Saturday on Mr A. BroAvn’s dam at Naseby. The ice was in good condition, especially considering the thaAv of Monday and the changeable Aveather conditions. On Friday afternoon it became a bit wet on the surface and a thaw seemed imminent, but during Friday night, there Avasalxard frost (about 12deg.) Avhich tightened up the ice. Of such benefit did this proA’e that three matches Avere played on Saturday It is seldom, if ever, this lias been possible before. Six clubs Avere competing, Avith tAvo rinks from each. Play AA T as close, and with keen ice on Saturday many exciting games were played. A good number of spectators Avere in constant attendance.

On Friday evening a smoke concert was held by players in the» Oddfellows Hall and on Saturday evening “Curlers Court” was held in the Oddfellows Hall nearly 100 being present. ( Seventeen new curlers were “initiated” into the sport, following which the Court went into harmony. Milord J. J. Fraser and his deputy 11. S. Black, keeping the proceedings going During the evening Mr T. H. Mee (President of the Provincial Curling Council) expressed warm est thanks and appreciation to all participating clubs, to visitors from a distance and to the Naseby Curling Coun cil for all the arrangements made for them and the hospitality shown to curlers and visitors during the week.
