Mr Jas. Horn, M. P., who sets the political ball rolling to-night at Paerau, spent last evening in Clyde. He is faced with an almost impossible task, having to visit over one hundred polling booths in about 30 days- He is to finish up in this locality, being booked to speak as under: Saturday, December 2nd at Cromwell, Tuesday sth at Alexnndra, and on the 6th, the night before the election, at Clyde. Mr" J. R. Webb, fruitgrower, being the only candidate nominated to fill the vacancy for Clutha Riding in the Vincent County Council, is declared by the Returning Officer (Mr R. M. Ray) to be electedMessrs W- R* Nevill, G- Mc Intosh, Jas. Stuart, R- Webster, and W- Marshall senr are to-day gazetted as trustees of the Ida Valley cemetery. Mr W. J."Gallagher has been appointed trustee of the Blacks cemetery, in lieu of Mr O Gallagher resigned. Mr S. R. Sexton, S. M. at Omakau, has received notice of his transfer to Dunedin, where he will act as assistant relieving Officer. Mr Sexton has been a real, live wire at Omakau,taking a keen interest in the welfare of the place. His removal will be generally regretted-
