AN ENGINEERING TRIUMPH.
All doubt about the success of the attempt to raise the water in the Kawarau River at the Cromwell Development Company's work has been set at rest, the insertion of the final grill sending the water well over the intake. Indeed the race which was built to carry one thousand heads was running bank high' on Saturday. Certainly the river rose about one foot but it is still at an unusually low level. The work is a great triumph for the engineer, Mr EJ. lies.
