A Christchurch telegram on Thursday last stated that all the horses remain in the Trotting Cup after that day's paymentGloaming paid a nice price when he beat Beauford the other day, the general opinion being that the latter would win. By the way, Beauford is by birth more of a New Zealander than his great rival, Gloaming- Beau Sout, the sire of Beauford was bred by Mr G. Currie of Wanganui, while Blueford (Beauford's dam) was sired by True Blue, who was foaled in Auckland. Mr Con White, of Omakau, recently acquired a stylish looking filly, Martian-Pride of Clutha.
