The news of the sad and untimely death of Mrs J- Holloway, Alexandra, cast quite a gloom over the town where she had resided for many years, while it caused a shock to a wide circle of friends throughout the districtThe deceased lady, who was beloved on all sides because of a particularly kindly and genial disposition, was a native of StBathans, (tt daughter of the late Mr & Mrs McEneany-) Throughout her comparatively short life, she was only 45 years of age, the deceased lady was a willing and zealous worker for the common weal- She was an ideal organiser, and it it safe to say that her removal means a distinct loss to Alexandra. To Mr Holloway and the four children we extend our heartfelt sympathy in the terrible loss of a loving wife and mother. The funeral took place at Alexandra on Friday. The cortege was a large one, people attending from all parts of the district to pay their last respects to one who was universally esteemed. The Rev- Father Hunt officiated at the graveside. In the course of the ceremony the Rev. gentleman referred very feelingly to the loss sustained by all sidesHe spoke of the many good qualities of the deceased lady, as a good mother and wife, and also of her benevolence, of her readiness at all times to assist the sick and suffering, and to generally help and do cheerfully what was expected of a good christian woman. Father, touched all hearts- • ■*»•• The many friends of Mr and Mrs James Sheppard, of Becks, will learn with regret of the demise of their little daughter Mabel, which ocenrred at the Dunstan Hospital on Wedneday last- The funeral took place at the Drybread Cemetery on Saturday.
