CENTRAL OTAGO A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

—A Successful Year.—

The annual meeting of the above held at Ophiron Saturday last, was attended by Messrs R. Brown, T. Duggan, L. L. Taylor-Cannan, J. Macdonald, W. K. Mcintosh, A, Mc Kellar, J. M. Shaw, J, Clare 4 Geo. Harvey, C. White, H. Stevens, T. Read, and J. Haigh. Mr Stevens was voted to the chair. Before the ordinary business was commenced motions of sympathy were pßssed to the relatives of the late Mr R. V. Wilson and Mr A. Brown. This is moie fully reported elsewhere. The minutes ol the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The balance-sheet, showing a credit balance of £94 odd was read and adopted. This showed a satisfactory position the last show making a profit of £ls.' M r McKellar moved a hearty vote of thanks to the retiring office-bearers, and this was unanimously carried. The secretary was voted a bonus of £5, several speakers referring in complimentary terms to Mr Duggan's good work. It was decided to hold the annual show on Wednesday, Dec. 7th. The election of office-bearers resulted as under : President, Mr R. Brown. At this stage Mr Brown took the chair. Vice-presidents, Messrs G. Alexander, A. Scoular, and R. K. Smith. Finance and programme committee —Messrs W. K. Mcintosh, J. Clare, A. Scoular, G.Alexander, T. 11. Mee, J. Macdonald, R. Jopp, J. McKnight, R. Mee J. Clouston, J. Sheppard, Jno. Leask, J. McArthur, J. Naylor, C. White, G. Harvey, A. Brown and J. M. Shaw. Auditor—Mr H. E. Stevens. Printing and advertising.— To be offered to the Dunstan Times at £2O, the same as last year. The meeting of the programme and I finance committees was fixed for Wed- ! nesday, 13th inst, at Omakau. It .was decided to [dispose of the privileges by tender. Regarding the delaying of the train on Show day Mr Clare was deputed to wait on the Traffic Superintendent in Dunedin. It was resolved that no horse parade be held this year. A sub-committee consisting of the president, secretary and Mr Stevens was appointed to draw up bye-laws. On Mr White's motion Mr John Wilson was unanimously elected a life-member of the association. Some discussion took place regardthe neceasity for improvements to the show grounds, and with authority to spend up to £65, the following were appointed a sub-committee to undertake the work—Messrs G. Harvey, H. Drake, J. Macdonald, C White, W. K. Mcintosh and J. Clare. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
