WEDDING AT IDA VALLEY.

A very pretty wedding took place at Ida Valley Railway Hotel on the 23rd August, when Miss Isabel Donnella Dundass (Flossie), third daughter of Mr and Mrs W. F. Dundass, was married to Mr Thomas Mitchell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs James Mitchell, Ranfurly. The Rev. E. Swinherd was the officiating Clergyman. The Bride, who was given away by her Father, looked very swtet in her wedding dress, which was in cream Georgettee over crepe de chene trimmed with real lace. She carried a Bible covered with white suede, the gift of her Grandmother. Miss Myrtle Dundass made a capital Bridesmaid, wearing a pretty dress of pale pink satin. Mr John Pringle, Ranfurly, acted as Bestman. After the ceremony about a hundred guests sat down to an excellent Wedding Breakfast, the tables having been very tastefully decorated and well adorned with all good things. The usual toasts were proposed and duly honoured. Mr John Clare proposing that of the Parents. Mr Jas. Mitchell in replying struck a happy note when he said "If the young couple were as happy, and got on as well as their parents, they would have little to grumble at." The presents were handsome and many, in fact I fancy there was a present from every family from one end of the Valley to the other. The Bridegroom's gift to the Bride was a beautiful gold jewelled pendant, and a pretty pearl spray brooch to the Bridesmaid. The Bride gave the Bridegroom a single stone diamond ring. After the young couple had left by motor for Palmerston, where they caught the train for the South Express, a pleasant afternoon was spent wi'h cards; songs etc, and after tea, dancing was indulged in until the early hours of the morning. After the Honeymoon the young couple intend taking up their residence at Ranfurly.
