HOSPITAL BOARD’S CONFER.

A conference of the Vincent & Maniototo Hospital Boards, with Dr McKibbon of the Health Department, was held at Naseby to consider the question of establishing a resident Doctor at Lauder, which had been recommended'by the Dept- to serve the two districts comprising the lower end of the Vincent Boards district and the upper end of Maniototo. The proposal of the Dept, in reference to subscriptions, which with the Govtsubsidy would enable a guarantee to be given for Doctor’s salary, were agreed to. The question of the erection of a residence was exhaustively discussed, and finally it was decided to recommend that estimates be procured for a suitable building for residence, containing necessary hospital accommodation, and that both Boards share the cost of interest and sinking fund of loan for that purpose- These proposals are to be put in concrete form and submitted to a meeting to be held at Lauder at as early a date as possible.
