GRAIN AND PRODUCE REPORT. Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd report as follows: We held our weekly auction sale at on stores, Cumberland Street, to-day when we submitted a representative catalogue to the usual attendance of buyers. Prices ruled as follows : Oats : - The market remains dull and lifeless. Shippers and merchants are not operating to any extent. Prime heavy Gartons for milling purposes are saleable at quotations. Outside of these there is very little demand for other descriptions, We Quote - Prime milling to 2/3 per bushel, Good to best feed 2/1$ to 2/2, light and inferior 1/9 per bushel, Medium 2s to 2s Id, sacks extra. Wheat.—The market remains unchanged. Millers are not operating to any extent. There is still a large quantity of Tuscan wheat offering bub this variety is almost neglected. Velvet Ear and Red Chaff are in fair demand at quatation. The market is well supplied with Fowl Wheat which is in fair demand at quotations. We quote-Prirae Milling to 4/2, Velvet Edr and Red Chaff 3/8 to 3/10, Best Whole Fowl Wheat 3/4 to 3/5, Medium 3/0 to 3/3. Inferior from 2s Od Tuscan 3s fid to 3s 7d per bushel, sacks extra. Potatoes Consignments during the past week have been coming to hand more freely. Prime well graded samples receive most attention, while medium and out of conditioned lines are difficult to place. Seed varieties are now being esquired for. We quote-; —Prime table potatoes to £4 7s fid to £4 10s, medium good £4 to £4 6s, Others from £3 per ton, sacks extra. Chaff Increased consignments have been coming to hand during the past week. All lines of prime Oaten Sheaf are meeting with a ready sale at quotations. Medium light and discoloured qualities are in better demand. Quote—Prime Oaten Sheaf Chaff £4 0s Od te £4 2s fid, Medium Good £3 10s to £3 15s, light and discolored from £3, Choice Black Oaten Sheaf to £4 5s per ton, sacks extra. Dunedin, July 34, 1913. Ltd., Bond Stree Dunedin, report as follows Rabbitskins.— All descriptions of rabbit skins are at present in very keen demand, and consequently we have pleasure in quoting increased prices as follows Incoming and Prime winter does 37M to 40$ per lb Winter bucks 22d to 27d “ early winters ISd to 21d “ Autumn Racks 16d to 18d “ Summers and halfgrown lOd to lOd “ Suckers and Runners 7|d to lOd “ Horsehair—l7d to 19d. Tallow—l9s to 23s per cwt. Sheepskins—Halfbreds and fine crossbreds Bsd to 9d, medium and coarse crossbreds to 9sd, Lambskins 7sd to Bsd, pelts and sbortwools ssd to 7sd, dead and damaged halfbreds 7sd to BJd, do. crossbreds fid to 7d, do. lambs and hoggets 7sd. Hides and calfskins also wanted in auy quantity at market rates. These prices are Nett Cash. No Commission charged. Cheque posted the same day as the goods arrive. STRONACH, MORRIS & CO. Stronach, Morris A Company Ltd. report for week ending July 25th as follows : Fat Sheep.—22l4 were penned. There were very few prime sheep forward. Prices taken all round were slightly firmer. Best wethers 25s Od to 30s Od. medium to good 23s Od co 24s fid, light 17s fid to 19s fid, best ewes 21/1 to 24/0, extra to 29s 3d, medium to good 17s fid to 19s fid, light 13s fid to 15s fid. Fat Lambs.— 1000 were penned, being the end of this season’s lot. Prices were about the same as at last week, a large number of medium lambs being taken by graziers. Quotations Best lambs 16s to 17s ; extra to 19s ; medium to good I4s fid to 15s fid, inferior 12s fid tol3s fid. Fat Cattle. —There w as a yarding of 188. Ther* was good competition, a few outside buyers being present. Prime cattle were firm at late rates, but inferior were "hardly so good as last sale. —Rest bulloc’ks £ll 10s to £l7 2s, medium £9 15s £l2, interior to £8 ss; best cows and heifers £8 0s to £9 10s Od, medium ta good £6 10s to £7, light £4 0s to £6. Pigs. - About 100 were penned. Porkers and baconers were in demand, but scores and young pigs did not meet with the same competirion. Quotations —suckers to 13s fid ; slips to 18s Od, stores to 28s, best porkers to 525, light baconers to 60s, heavy baconers to 85s. Rabbitskins—We offered a very large catalogue at Monday’s sale. There was a rr o od attendance of buyers and competition was keen. Owing to the drop in the London market second winter bueks and does showed a drop of from Id to lsd per lb, Primes lines and low grades showed no change. Winters does 38d to 40$ d, winter bucks 21$ d to 25d, Incoming winters lgsd to 22|d, autumns 16$ d to 18$ d, silver greys to 38£ d, autumn blacks to 24d. Hides—Our next sale will be held on Thursday. 1 . Wheat.— We quote Prime Milling 3s lOd to 3/11$, medium 3;6 to 3/Bd, best whole fowl wheat 3s 3d to 3/4, medium to good 3s Od to to 3s 3d, Broken and damaged 3/0 to 3/2 pec bushel, (sacks extra). Potatoes—There is not a very keen demand for potatoes, and prices have eased. Large consignments are coming to band. Best table potatoes £4-10 to £4-15 medium £4 0s to £4 5s Od. Oats. — There is a fair demand for prime Gartons and Sparrowbills and as there are very few offering prices show a slight advance. Medium and inferior lots are hard to sell. Quotations Prime milling 2/4, good to best feed 2/1 to 2? 3d, inferior 1/9 to Is lid per bushel (sacks extra).
