BLACKS COURSING CLUB.
There was a good'and enthusiastic attendance at a meeting of the above club, held at Mr H. Drake’s Hotel, Omakau, on Saturday evening, the president, Mr C. Huddleston occupying the chair. ■ A statement of accounts in connection with the recent meeting, showed that the latter would result in a small profit when a few outstanding subscriptions were collected.
After some discussion anent the affairs of the club it was decided to hold another coursing meeting on June 18th for 20 dogs at an entry of £l. First dog to receive £5, runner-up £3, and 8 dogs at 2'l--to be made before 8 p.m. on the night of the draw, Thursday June 17th. In order to suit the convenience of people attending by train from Clyde and Alexandra the first course will start punctually at 11 a.m. and the coursing will be concluded in time to allow visitors to return by the afternoon train. It was resolved that Mr C. Huddleston act as judge and Mr G. Paul as slipper. The next meeting of the club was fixed for Saturday, June 12th at Omakau.
The question of holding a black meeting' in connection with the next Plumpton was discussed and it was eventually decided to hold the matter over till the next annual meeting.
