(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT)
FAREWELL STJPPETL
A farewell supper was given to Miss M'Uonnell in the Shamrock Hotel, on the ev3 of her departure from Ophir after a residence of over ten years. The keen interest the [ladies of Ophir took in sub" scribing to the valuable present of a gold brooch says much for the respect in which Miss McConnell was held in the district. The wellloaded table supplied for the occasion reflects much credit on our worthy hostess f Mrs Gavan). The company consisted of between 40 and 50 ladies and gentlemen. Alter they had partaken of the good things provided, the company enjoyed themselves in songs recitations, etc, The entertainnaenc wound up by the singing of Auid Lang Syne, and with three cheers for oar worthy hostess. -Altogether it was a very enjoyable evening.
