GOLD IN TASMANIA.
11 was stated that a man had come into Launceston with 70oz. of gold, said to have been obtained on the Pieman River goldfield, on the west coast of Tasmania, and another digger having recently brought in a parcel of ICoz. from the same field. A number of diggers have also loft for the now workings. They cither proceed by coasting steamer to Pieman River, or from Emu Bay to the Mount Bischoff workings, and thence through the bush to the gold-field, a distance of about seventy miles. Two steamers have been laid on, and go within two miles of the diggings. The miners are said to bo averaging halt an ounce of gold per day.
