The annual report of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company states that at Burnside and Oamaru 57,759 carcases cf mutton and 115.805 ef lambs have been put through. The company have also slaughtered and frozen 3782 head of cattle, whilst 48,269 crates of rabbits were frozf n and put through for export. A complete plant for utilising offal and tallow has been erected. The balance of profits is £3236, which the directors recommend should be devoted to the payment of a dividend on preference shares and 5 per cent on ordinary shares, absorbing £1267, and depreciation building, plant, etc., £1500, leaving £468 to be carried forward.
