-» ASSOCIATION MEETING.

The fortnightly meeting of the committee of the above was held at the Masonic Hotel last evening, Mr IC. H. Williams (president) in the chair. All the affiliated clubs were represented. In reply to a letter from the Auckland Cricket Association, intimating that the northern association's team desired to meet Hawke's Bay at Napier on Saturday, 12th, and Monday, 14th January, it was decided to accept those dates, and a levy ot 10i was struck upon each player selected for the Hawke's Bay team, in order to assist in defraying the expenses of the match, the money to be refunded should the returns produce a surplus. The Poverty Bay Association wrote asking if a Hawke's Bay team could visit Gisborne during Christmas week, intimating also that a Poverty Q3ay team would play in Napier the following week. —It was resolved to reply that a team conld not be sent this season, but that every effort would be made to give the visitors an enjoyable time in Hawke's Bay. Matches will probably be arranged with the Scinde Club on New Year's Day, United the following day, and a third match on the Thursday or Friday. The president intimated that it was probable an East Coast team would visit Napier in February. J. R. Ross, captain of the Scinde Wednesday team, wrote complaining of unsatisfactory umpiring in the last match Scinde v. Rivals. —Reply to be-sent that as there was no protest the association could not take action. The matter was one for mutual arrangement between the respective captains. The Rivals Club were granted a wicket for Boxing Day for a match versus Awatoto, provided the ground was not required for auy outside match on that day. The question of sending a team to Wanganui was further held over till next meeting.—Mr Gore intimated that the County team intended visiting Wanganui during Christmas week. The Toiuoana Club were granted permission to play matches with unaifiliated teams during the holidays. It was decided to suspend all Cup matches from Saturday, 22nd, to Saturday, 29th December, inclusive, following the usual custom for the Christmas holidays. This will enable teams having unfinished matches to arrange to ihave them played out before the 31st Deoember. SCINDE v. COUNTS. The unfinished Wednesday match Scinde v. County will be continued on the Hastings around to-morrow afternoon, the Scinde payers leaving town by the 2 p.m. train. SATURDAY FIXTURES. The Cup matches will proceed .as usual next Saturday afternoon.
