RAIDING BY BOERS.
Capture of Cattle by the British.
Protection of Johannesburg.
(Received Dec. 10, 10.45 p.m.) London. Dec. 10. The Boers at Standerton (on the railway line between Pretoria and Laing's Nek) stopped three trains and took nineteen remounts before they were dispersed. Others raided Brakspruit and cap tured many stock belonging to Boers who had surrendered. Major-General Coke's brigade, operating in the Drackensburgs, captured 8000 sheep, and many cattle. Johannesburg is completely surrounded with barbed wire, with five exits. This is to prevent the con veyance of food and information to the Boers who are still righting. Boer women and children are laagered on the racecourse. The British have taken this precaution to prevent them communicating with the enemy.
