WAIPAWA.
_ [own cobeespondent.] A number of lambs have died in the district during the last few days, owing to the intense cold and rain. The shops are gay with Christmas , goods, and shilling tables are the order of the day. A public meeting will be held in the Library this afternoon, to matee arrangements to receive the Hou. T. Y. Duncan, Mjnisier for Lands, on his \ arrival in Waipawa. Dr. Robeitson, who has been relieving Dr. God fray at Waipukurau, leaves tomorrow. Dr. Sheppard will take his place until Dr. Godfray's return.
