KRUGER IN HOLLAND.
Capture of Sheep hy Boers
London. Dec. 9. Queen Wilhelmina of Holland has assumed a less aggressively sympathetic attitude toward Mr Kruger. She awarded him a private audience lasting a quarter of an hour. Owing to the ex-President's inchgnito he did not receive the ceremony paid to a chief of State. The Boers captured 17,000 sheep, which were being escorted by a party of British soldiers between Potchefstroom and Krugersdorp. It is expected that they will shortly be retaken. Major-General McDonald commands at Aliwal North. Sydney. Dec. 9. Twenty-five _Tew Zealand troopers are on board the Moana, which sailed yesterday for Wellington, being chiefly those invalided who came by the Harlech Castle.

Greymouth, Last night. The Premier has, through his Excellency, received the following cable, dated London, Bth inst., from Lord Onslow : — " Please convey hearty congratulations to your Ministers and the people of New Zealand on the gallantry displayed by the New Zealand Contingent at Reitfontein."
