AFRIKANDER BOND CONFERENCE.

Rebellion Repudiated.

United Press Association. Sy EUc'ric Telegraph. — Copyright. (Received Dec. 3, 8.50 a.m.) London, Dec. 7. The annual Congress of the Afrikander Bond is being, held at Worcester, Cape Colony. Mr J. De Villiers, brother of the Hon. Sir John De Villiers,-Chief Justice of Cape Colony and President of the Cape Legislative Council, presided. He delivered a temperate address, but Mr De Voss, who recently formed one of the Afrikander deputation to visit England, abused the English Liberals for their pusillanimous line of policy. Some violent speeches were delivered, and resolutions in favor of maintaining the independence of the Boer republics were carried by acclamation. There were 7000 persons present, and it is claimed that the Congress represented 120,000 people. Mr Cronwright Schreiner, husband of Olive Sehreincr, aroused a passion of fury and resentment l>y repeating wild charges against th« British troops and heaping , virulent abuse on Sir Alfred Milner. Most of the speakers repudiated the idea of an Afrikander rebellion.
