Owing to want of accommodation for the Railway Department in the big ivooden building, the Government have decided to erect special offices near the station and at the back of the Government Buildings. The block will be 236 ft long, 48ft wide, three stories high, of "brick and Oamaru stone, plaster inside, .and steel to be used to make it as nearly fire-proof as possible. The Minister and managers will take up their quarters in 3fche new building.
