THE Transvaal War.

METHUEN MOVING.

A Boer Defeat.

An Australian Wounded.

United Press Association. By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. (Received July 25, 9 a.m.) London, July 2i. Lord Methuen on Saturday last inflicted a defeat upon the Boers in the vicinity of Rustenburg. Since the British occupied that place it has been subject to considerable pressure from the Boer forces. A section of these held a position at Oliphant's Nek, seven miles' southwest of Eustenburg, and it was this position Lord Methuen attacked. He completely dispersed the enemy, inflicting upon them severe loss, and relieved the pressure upon the garrison. In a fight at Baker's Kop Major Roe, of the Australian Bushmen, was slightly wounded.
