At the Harbor Board meeting today a communication was read from the Railway Department agreeing from July 23rd to abolish the reiespatching charge of Is per ton and to charge dead weight instead tf ship's measure on the breakwater line. The Board decided to reduce their charges Is per ton from . the Ist August. It is understood that the Union Company will also make a substantial reduction ia freights. The harbormasters report for the month states 'hat the depth of water is well maintained, and that the port was worked through bad weather with trifling delay.
