The march of events in the Transvaal is greatly disheartening the Boers, and Mr Krager is very much discouraged owing to Rustenberg having beentsurrendered to the British.
On the other hand it is reported that Commandant Botha is extremely discontented owing to the non-success of his requests for big guns, Kruger preferring to retain them for the defence of Machadorp, where he now is.
The British authorities have arrested three hundred and eighty foreign vagrants in Pretoria, on suspicion of organising arising or riots.
