'Iho adjourned hearing ot the charges of forgery preferred against Isabella Laws was this af t.irn.-.on removed to tho hospital, for tha purpose of taking the ovidonoa of John Harvey Sims,-an inmato, who depised thit ho formerly resided at tho Western f.-pit. Had been a member of the Kecbabito Order fjr fourteen years, and was also one of tho trnttoes of the Hopa of Jlapitr Tent, in which capacity ho had signed cheques ia couneotkn with tho Order. Tha signatures to the cheques (produced) for £110 os and £277 17s wore not in his handwriting,_ and ho had never authorised anyone to sign on his behalf. Tho signatures to tho deposit receipts for £105 and £26 i 12s were in his handwriting. 'I r he signatures to tho cheques for £110 and £120 wero vory much lika his, but he had not signed fur such a large amount., never going above £8. Whilst an in-patient of the hospital in Beptomber and October last year he tignod five blank cheques which wore supposed to bo used in connection with the Tout.
This completed theievidence in the two unfinished cases, and tho accused was committed to stand her trial at tha ensuing sittings of the Supreme Court.
