VICTORIA.
Mexbotjbnb, February 12. The Premier has announced that the Government intend to firmly repress the distribution of properties by lottery, as they consider that it will not help the colony out of its difficulties, but will encourage a spirit of gambling. It is estimated that ths recent Gippsland floods will entail a oost of £50,000 to repair the damages they have caused.
