Industrial Exhibits.

Sir, —In reference to the leading -article on the H.B. A. and P. show appearisg in your issue of the 9th inst., pointing onfc the absence of exhibits in the local industry dei partment, I wish to say, on behalf of the brewing industry, and to point out to the committee that until some protection is offered to exhibitors they cannot expect toreceive any entries. Last year our exhibit of bottled ale and stout, with the requisite ahow stand, etc., was erected at a good deal of expense, but on account of there -being: no person connected with the Sooietj ire charge of the exhibits, the stand was destroyed, and the contents of all the bottles emptied. This does not encourage anyone to show again. I would suggest that the com nittee appoint a man to look after the exhibits in this class, and I believe exhibitors would then have no reluctance in sending goods out; and, again, a printed certificate is far more preferable as a prize than the small cash prizes that the Society gives.—lam, &c, XT • ,„„ « E - Newbiqin.
