FALSE PROPERTY TAX STATEMENTS.
Dunedin, This day. At the City Court George McGavin, the well-known brewor, and head of tho firm of McGavin, Smith, and McGregor, was fined £25 and costs, and ordered to pay treble the amount of the tax, for forwarding an incorrect statement to tho Propertytax Commissioner. He valued at £1092. The property is worth £9000. Defendant pleaded guilty. Alex. McGregor was similarly fined. ■
