Some years ago Bishop Moorhouso ■wanted a catbodral commenced in Melbourne, on a site which was certainly ill-adapted for the purpose By sheer forco of character in face of much opposition ho carried his point, though at that time general regret was felt that a higher situation had not been selected. Now that eight and ten storey buildings are being put up, the cathedral will bo lost eight of among them. A syndicate has come to the rescue with an offer of half a million sterling for the site, and it is probable the opinion of Bishop Moorhouse will be asked as to whether the offer should bo accepted, for it is felt that with such an amount in hand, a magnificent cathedral could bo erected on one of the highest sites in the city, belonging to tho Anglican body.
