NEW HEBRIDES QUESTION.
NEGOTIxITIONS STILL PROCEEDING
DELAY NOT THE FAULT OF THE
BRITISH GOVERNMENT.
London, June 7
In the House of Commons this afternoon Mr Smith, First- Lord of the Treasury, announced that negotiations between the British and French Governments regarding the New Hebrides were still proceeding. He further stated that the delay which had occurred in arriving at a settlement of the New Hebrides question was not due to the action of the Imperial Government.
