YOUNGHUSBAND V. HEMMINGSEN.
A CORRECTION. ; [to the editob,] . ; Sik, —YourWaipawa correspondent has been rathar hasty in taking all news coming to his mill as gospel truth—that is supposing he did really liear vfhat he has recorded in your issue of 2nd inst. anent Mr Younghusband's trumpery charge against me. ' I, refer here to that part of his correspondence which speaks "of my violent behavior,. of Danevirke as being ia, a etate of siege, amd paints storekeepers and others as cowards, who hide themselves behind closed' doors and shutters. I .emphatically deny'tho truth of those statements, as much as the Danevirke people object to the idea of being branded as a pack of cowards who daro.not show their noses till the man in blue turns up. I.am rather inclined to think that your correspondent would act far wiser in not making any comments oh affairs which come under his notice as a Magistrate, and which he knows and admits himself are likely to be again" brought before the Bench. Kindly grant the above remarks' a small space in , the columas. of yoiir paper. —I am, &&. ■■'■■'■ ■■•■ . '•.'■■■. :, Peteb Hemmesosest;'.-.
