THE RAH FAIR.

Messrs 0. B. Hoadloy and 00., report as follows:—

"We opened tho annual ram fair yesterday at 10 o'clock sharp. The attendance was not so largo as usual, and although biddings started with spirit, and in the oarlierpart of tho day tho prices obtainod were highly satisfactory to vendors, as tho sales progrossod, businoßs bogan to flag, and numerous lots woro passed in. No doubt tho almost; unprecedented drought wo arc now experiencing was chiefly tho oanso for the falling off in prices, which all round woro quite 25 per cont. lower than last yoar. At the ram iair, held at Hastings yesterday, there was a fair attendance of buyers, but biddings wore not what could be desirod, being very slow all through. About

1700 Rams were catalogued altogether, but of those a good number were withdrawn, — bids not reaching owner's rosorvo. Although the prices for tho sheep sold proved satisfactory to vendors, a very decided decline is noticeable since last year.
