Waring Taylor was arrested at Carnarvon last night, and brought up at the Court and remanded to Wellington.

The Rev. Abraham Ridings, congregational minister, was charged at the Magistrate's Court yesterday with an indecent assault on a boy, and was remanded for eight days. Bail was allowed. Superintendent Thomson said he intended to make an investigation at Maungaturoto into the charges against the accused. Three young lads had made admissions tending to criminate the accused. His counsel made no ob - jectionto the remand. The accused believed he would be able to establish his innocence. • AVellin-gton, This day.

During a visit of inspection at Mount A'iew Asylum, tho Colonial Secretary had an interview with tho girl Fanny Boddington, who was recently tried in Blenheim for the murder of her infant child, but was acquitted on the ground of insanity and ordered to be confined during the pleasure of the Colonial Secretary. The girl is now apparently..quite strong and well, and Dr Grabham .has reported that although rather silly there is no evidence of insanity. It is understood that as soon as Dr Grabham's final report regarding her has been received she will be set free. ...-.,.-. It is rumoured that certain arrests made last week in this city_ on nominal charges of vagrancy are not entirely unconnected with the recent bank note forgeries, and that strong suspicion is entertained' that the forged notes, recently circulated onthe Christchurch racecourse wore specimens* of-Wellington art and industry.
