"KEO KAHA."
[To the Editor of tiie Daily Telegraph:.] Sir, —A considerable amount of attention has been called to some rather strong letters ■which have lately appeared in tho correspondence column of your local contemporary over the Maori signature, Keo Kaha. I may as well tell you that it is tho general report both in town and country that Mr. A. Desmond, the lato liberal candidate for the Hawke's Bay county is the author of that correspondence, as well as of various effusions which have appeared in your own valuable columns upon the subject of modern slavery. The public will therefore know how much or how little weight to attach to tho communistic opinions of that would be demagogue.—l am, etc., Kakino. November IG, 1884. [We do not think it is of any importance as to who "KeoKaha" may be, but we have Mr Desmond's own permission to say that "Keo Kaha" is the signature undor which he has been writing. Without that permission the above letter would not have appeared iv our columns, —Ed. D.T.]
