August 20. Intelligence is to hand from tho West Coast of Africa that Dr. Machitgnal, the German Commissioner who had gone there on a special mission with the German gunboat Moerve, has hoisted tho German flag at Lieut. Cameron's station at Bimbui, and that the officers of the Moerve have pulled down tlie British flag at Begerda and hoisted the German standard iv its place. Tawhiao, the Maori " King," had a fare-Ai-cll interview to-day at the Mansion House with Lord Mayor FoAvler.
