EDUCATION RESERVES.
[To tiie Editor of the Daily Telegraph.] * Sir,—Your correspondent " Cannie Scot in his letter in your Saturday's issue, would lead one to suppose, that the High School Governors are not fulfiling their duty in allowing the reserves in Hastings street to be submitted to auction five months earlier than is absolutely necessary. Surely your correspondent would not have us believe that any one of the High School Governors is individually interested in the sale that will take place on the 25th instant ?—I am, &c, Englishman. Napier, 20th August, ISS4. [We are not aware that any such absurd inference could be drawn from "Cannie Scot's letter.—Ed. D.T.]
