The s.s. Wairoa, Capt. H. Anderson, steamed for Wairoa shortly after 12 o'clock last night, taking a largo cargo and_so\-cral passengers. She is reported as having arrived in the river at 6.30 a.m. this day.

The Union Company's s.s. Southern Cross left Auckland for Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington last night, and will be clue here on Friday morning. The launch Bella, Capt. Green, got away for Mohaka at about 9 o'clock this morning. The topsail schooner Zior, Capt. M. Moore, sailed for D'Urville's Island this morning in ballast. The p.s. Manaia, Capt. W. E. Baxter, steamed for Wairoa at 0 o'clock this morning, Avith cargo and passengers. The brigantine Enterprise, Capt. A. Bell, which left this port at 5 a.m. on Wednesday last, is reported as having reached her destination (Dunedin) on Monday, and to having experienced four days of very rough northerly Aveather during the run. The Union Company's s.s. Wfiihora is to leave Auckland to-moriw for Hobart and Melbourne via the coast, instead of direct to Melbourne as originally intended, and sho -will arrive hero on Saturday morning, while tho s.s. To Anau has been sent to Melbourne direct from Auckland, to take up the Waihora's time-table running from that end.

The s.s. Fairy, Avhich has been lying loaded Avaiting to proceed to Pourcrere and Waimarama, is to got aAvay to-night. The s.s. Weka is loading up to-day for Mahia, and is expected to got away tonight.

She brings 190 passengers of all classes. One death occurred, that of Mrs M'llwraith, aged 76 of bronchitis. The Tongariro has 15,281 packages of cargo for Dunedin, and 21,076 packages for Lyttelton. .
