CHILD MURDER.
Auckland, I his day. A respectable-looking young woman named Rosina Smith was arrested last night on tho charge of having caused her child's death. She" Avent out of her lodgings at Parnoll (where she had a baby three Avecks ago) in the storm of last Saturday night, and returned Avithout, the baby and her dress muddy. She stated that her friends had taken the baby to Waikato. The landlord informed the police, to Avhoni she stated that the child Avas ill and she gave it huidinuiu and threw it over the cliff's at St. George's Bay. She declined to state her antecedents.
