A PAYABLE GOLD MINE.
TrrAjiKs, This day. The new Prince Imperial, whoso bottom level is 430 feet below the sea level, yesterday bagged 9 cwt. of good specimens from ojip breaking down of the reef in one of the slopes, a very rich show being left in the roof of tho slope. The return for la,-;t month was 2000 ounces of gold from 037 loads of quartz and 10 cwt. of specimens, and this month's yield will probably exceed it.
Auckland, This day. The excellent return of 2020 ounces of gold from tho Prince Imperial mine for the last month enabled the directors to declare a dividend of five shillings per share, to pay ior the whole of the newmachinerv amounting to about £ 1000, and to carry forward a substantial balance. The Prince Imperial mine has paid £2:5,400 in dividends duriu»the past eight months, or a total of '20s per share. Yesterday night a hundred weight of specimens were sent up, and as Hho specimens last month averaged more than tin ounce to the pound weight of stone the present haul may bo regarded as the most satisfactory that has been received from the Thames goldfield for a long period.
