WASTE LANDS BOARD.
This Day. The Board met at 11 a.m. Present: The Chief Commissioner (Mr J. T. Tylee) in the chair, Messrs R. Hardins and F. Sutton, M.H.R. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Under-Secretary for Crown Lands relative to trespass on Crown lands at tbe Manawatu Gorge—The Chairman reported that be bad visited the place, and had made certain -irrangements, of which the Board approved. From the Ranger, reporting on some sixteen allotments held on deferred payment in the Seventy-Mile Buah. The conditions ot occupation in each case had been complied with. From James Pirie and George Francis, applying to transfer their interest iv section 3, Block VI, Woodville, to James Rochfort. — Decided that the licensees should be required to make application in the usual form stating the consideration to be given. LICENSES TO OCCUPY. Licenses were ordered to be icsued in respect of tbe following applications to take up land on deferred payment :—No. 91 to G. W. Russell, section 1, Block XIII., Tahoraite; No. 92, T. Gilbert, section 5, ditto. LAND FOR SETTLEMENT. It was agreed tbat the Chief Surveyor be requested to cvi up Block XLV., Tahoraite survey district, also about 5670 acres in tbe M;-hara!iara block into lots suitable for settlement, about 2500 acres of totara bush to be left for future consideration as to mode oi disposal. The remaining business was of a semiofficial character, and possessed no public interest.
